GVSU CSO Overview

Grand Valley State University has a long standing tradition and commitment to providing quality education for students. As part of this mission, the GVSU Board of Trustees seeks to impact public K12 education through its leadership in Michigan's Charter Schools.

GVSU chartered its first three schools in 1995, serving a total of 350 students. As we celebrate our twelfth year as an authorizer, GVSU currently charters 28 schools serving over 14,000 students. Grand Valley State University's dedication to fostering choice in K12 education and positive public reform is stronger than ever.
