Board Application
Like other public schools, the board of a Public School Academy (Charter School) is composed of Michigan citizens who volunteer there time and experiences. However, unlike other public schools, a charter school board member is appointed rather than elected.
In order to become a board member in a charter school, a candidate must be nominated by a local charter school board, complete an application for board service, successfully pass a background check, interview with a representative of the GVSU Charter School Office, and be approved by the Grand Valley State University Board of Trustees.
